Her Story
Before moving to Murderville, Dr. Serena Nix was once the premier toxicologist at a Swiss bioweapons lab disguised as a pharmaceutical think tank. Raised in cold luxury by absentee parents and a robotic nanny, she developed an early obsession with cause and effect—especially fatal ones. Her PhD thesis was confiscated by Interpol after several U.N. diplomats collapsed mid-conference in Geneva.
When her lover—a covert NATO agent—betrayed her, Serena served him a final parting gift: a microdose slipped into his shaving cream. He died mid-lather in a Rome hotel suite, exactly 62 minutes later.
She disappeared. For months, no sightings, no trails. Then, she received a letter—handwritten, postmarked from an island that didn’t officially exist. It read:
“Congratulations. You’ve just won a luxury home and unlimited wealth on the private island of Murderville. Come claim the life you deserve.”
Something about the ink smelled faintly of almond. She boarded a charter plane. The pilot never spoke a word.
Now, Serena runs the Apothecarium, an upscale alchemy lounge where patrons sip molecular cocktails and unknowingly beta-test her latest toxins. No one’s ever gotten a refund.
