Her Story

Kaori grew up in Tokyo’s underground fight circuit, a child prodigy in martial arts who mixed traditional discipline with ruthless innovation. By 17, she was banned from three national competitions for “excessive force,” but that didn’t stop her fans—or her enemies—from growing. After a wealthy opponent’s father put a price on her head, Kaori went dark, training with old masters and becoming a myth whispered in back alleys: the girl who could paralyze with a pair of nunchucks and a smirk.

While practicing kata alone on a rooftop one stormy night, a drone dropped a scroll at her feet. It read:

“You’ve outgrown this city. Murderville awaits your fury and your grace.”

She bowed, burned the scroll, and disappeared.
